Arbitration
Arbitration is a form of justice outside the court. Sometimes it is advisable to submit a dispute to one or more arbitrators (referees) who are specialized in family or inheritance law. For example, specific tax issues may be at stake in a case or knowledge of international regulations may be important. In that case, it may be effective to appoint specialized arbitrators. Arbitration is rare in family law and is expensive. The process is shorter, but an appeal is excluded, for example. The pros and cons must therefore be carefully weighed.
