As a result, conflicts between parents often last for years and children are exposed to serious stress for an unnecessarily long time.<\/p>\n<p>When two parents split up, it can be quite damaging to the children. Especially when mom and dad fight each other to death.<\/p>\n<p>The exact number of contested divorces is not known, but it is estimated that there are around 3,500 children who are the victims of a contested divorce each year.
