At the moment, there is no legislation in the Netherlands on surrogacy. Last summer, the government announced its intention to come up with a regulation for surrogacy.<\/p>\n<p>Commercial surrogacy is prohibited in the Netherlands and will remain prohibited under the new regulation. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/eenvandaag.avrotros.nl\/item\/draagmoederbank-een-zegen-voor-wensouders-en-draagmoeders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minister Dekker<\/a> let it be known that he wants to arrange things properly for prospective parents. The minister is also considering the possibility that surrogate mothers can register somewhere if they want to carry a child for someone else for idealistic reasons.
