First the emotions, then the children and the reckoning

Marjoleine de Boorder in the Volkskrant dated 17 February 2011, about collaborative divorce or consultation divorce: “There is often an inequality of power within a relationship; the man is after the money, and the woman is after the children. Take finances. The man often has a knowledge advantage in that area. But a mediator is not allowed to take sides. You don't have that problem with the so-called collaborative divorce. A form of divorce that has existed in the Netherlands for about three years for partners who can no longer get along but who still want to work it out together”.
