“Teach parents to negotiate instead of fighting each other”

Dutch healthcare institutions do not cooperate sufficiently in cases involving a contested divorce. As a result, conflicts between parents often last for years and children are exposed to serious stress for an unnecessarily long time.

When two parents split up, it can be quite damaging to the children. Especially when mom and dad fight each other to death.

The exact number of contested divorces is not known, but it is estimated that there are around 3,500 children who are the victims of a contested divorce each year. At the moment, there are around 16,000 children who suffer from the quarreling separation of their parents.
